Mustard Chicken & Carrots (For Babies)

This meal is my go-to when I’ve run out of ideas on what to cook, or when I’m short on time. I don’t know what my favorite part of this meal is – that it takes less than 20 minutes from prep to serve, or that there’s only 4 ingredients.

This recipe contains mustard, which contains Potassium, Calcium, and Phosphorus. Mustard seeds are also a source of those omega-3 fatty acids, which help promote a healthy brain. It’s also rich in anti-oxidants.

This is recommended for children 6+ months.

Dijon Chicken and Carrots
Prep Time: 5 minutes         Cook Time: 10 minutes

  • You’ll need
    1 tbsp coconut oil
    1/2 boneless chicken breast, cubed
    4 small carrots, cubed
    1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  1. Place chopped carrots into steamer. Steam for 10 minutes, or until tender enough for your baby.
  2. In a small skillet, heat up the olive oil. Place cubed chicken into skillet on medium-high heat. Cook for 10 minutes, constantly flipping chicken, until chicken is white all through. Remove from heat.
  3. Place chicken into small tupperware or baby bowl with lid. Add mustard, place lid on, and shake until mustard coats chicken pieces evenly.

Bon apetite!

If your child loves garlic (like mine), sprinkle a pinch of garlic pepper over the final product for a bit of added flavor!
