Being married to a military man, chances to give gifts for special occasions always seem to creep up around the corner.
It can get tricky to find that perfect gift for your loved one, and I’m always feeling like I’m running out of ideas. I think the major key is to not always get your spouse a military themed gift.
When my husband picked up Captain, we decided to not do a wetting down. We had just moved across country and a lot of our friends still hadn’t made it out to our coast. I decided to surprise my husband instead with a gift that would stand out in his office; something subtle, yet unique. I was walking around consignment shops and luckily stumbled upon a wonderful Bar Globe.
Have a female friend who’s in the military, or a wife whose husband is about to retire after 20+ years and took her all around the world with him? The company Nomades sells beautiful jewelry that commemorates all the landmark memories us military wives find ourselves making on this journey.
Picking up a New Command, or moving to a New Duty Station? These signs from Wright Away Designs make beautiful decor for your house, and you can fill it out as the years go on.
I think my favorite gift idea has to be from Combat Humidor. These are made by a former Marine, can hold between 18-30 Cigars, and can be customized to your liking. The best part about this company is that they donate 25% of every Combat Humidor sale to to the Semper Fi fund and other charities, such as the Marine Recon Foundation.
There are so many more options out there, but those are just a few of my favorite.
I’ve compiled a list of other websites and ideas for gifts, you can access it here.
I’ll come back to it as more ideas come to me (or are given to me). Please feel free to leave comments on what your great gift ideas were!
